Get the mentorship and support you need and deserve.
Forza Coaching developed out of my desire to provide mentorship to new academics, first-generation scholars, and others in the academy.

Bringing to bear my more than two decades of experience in the professoriate AND my training as a life coach, I offer one-to-one virtual office hours for those looking to reach their highest professional potential without sacrificing their own well-being and values in the process.

You can work with me regularly or just drop in when needed. See below for current offerings.

for dreaming and for scheming
My office hours are an opportunity to get individual coaching around academic topics, professional development, or even just LIFE in general. Find the "hour" that works for you and book a single session or a monthly package.
Thinking
In this forty-five minute live call we will discus where you currently are in your life and/or career, and where you want to be. We will focus on identifying your top-line goals (publication? promotion? work-life balance?) and develop the next steps to help you reach them. As a life coach, I will focus on helping you identify the impact your thoughts are having on your day-to-day life so that you can thrive.

Executing

If you have already defined your educational and/or professional goals, we will work on strategies for reaching them with less effort and stress. We can focus on how to prepare for and navigate the job market or tenure/ promotion process. We can discuss strategies for prioritizing your research, streamlining your teaching, and adjusting to the expectations of your specific institution. You will leave this session with a clear road map to help realize your goals.

LET'S BE HONEST

There are a lot of academic coaches and editors out there. But not many have actually "walked the walk."

I know what it's like to work on the tenure-track as a first-generation woman of color, to write and to publish academic books, and to balance my teaching, my research, and my service with a life that includes three kids.
